When Jaeger-LeCoultre launched the very first Rendez-Vous back in 2012, it made an announcement. Short of going down to one knee, red rose bouquet in hand and suggesting undying love to the ladies of the planet, that the 180-year-old Swiss watchmaker was clearly wooing the ladies. And that’s because that the Rendez-Vous is the very first set Jaeger-LeCoultre has made just for women.Of class previously Jaeger-LeCoultre has provided versions created for the women, with elaborate enamel decorations in addition to miniature marvels, like the diminutive bead bracelet watches which housed the famous 101 Calibre that the size of a ladybird – as obscured by our own Queen Elizabeth II. But before the arrival of the round-faced Rendez-Vous, almost all Jaeger-LeCoultre women’s watches were variants of men’s models. Consider this Reverso: initially a man’s watch that soon found its way to women’s wrists. And since its timely arrival, the Rendez-Vous watch has deftly found its place in the positions of Jaeger-LeCoultre’s most successful timepieces. And now the Swiss watch house has gone one step further and revealed just how committed it’s to supplying the best in horology to girls with the advent of fresh Jaeger-LeCoultre Rendez-Vous Tourbillon models. But offering women tourbillon-regulated moves that increase the precision and reliability of timekeeping isn’t enough. All these tourbillon movements are housed in beautiful, feminine cases and topped off with fairly dials to match.
Jaeger-LeCoultre was among the most talked about brands at SIHH this season, with the release of this magnificent (and unexpected!) However, there was another collection updated this year you may have missed, the Rendez-Vous collection. Now, I am kind of a Reverso gal through and through, but I was impressed with all the brand new Rendez-Vous Night & Day Big, especially in stainless steel. The Rendez-Vous series was initially published in 2012 as a round watch for girls looking for an alternative to the rectangular Reverso. The Rendez-Vous is distinguished by its own round case form and was really inspired by the Master Control. While the original notion of this Rendez-Vous was going to offer a round case alternative with much more “female” attributes, for example smaller measurements and substances such as diamonds and mother-of-pearl, the brand new Night & Day Large is a departure from this with its case measuring a strong 38.3mm in contrast to smaller Night & Day that measures 34mm. What exactly is there to learn about this watch aside from the size? Well, it’s offered in steel with or without a bracelet and rose gold with diamonds and a strap. The silvered dial has a guilloché pattern radiating from the center. The Arabic numerals are slightly exaggerated, which is habitual for its Rendez-Vous collection. There are little diamond-set indexes, even though they’re relatively subtle and include only a small sparkle (notice: the early versions shot here at SIHH don’t have these diamond indexes yet). The hands are a crisp blued steel and contrast well with the silvered dial.

Now, I’m kind of a Reverso gal through and through, but I was rather impressed with the new Rendez-Vous Night & Day Big, especially in stainless steel. The Rendez-Vous collection was initially published in 2012 as a round watch for girls looking for an alternative to the rectangular Reverso. The Rendez-Vous is characterized by its own round case form and was actually inspired by the Master Control. The Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Compressor Diving GMT Lady watch in pink gold and ceramic is the ideal example of the evolutionary nature of diving watches — from pure instrument, to pure luxury. A beautiful timepiece that suggests a degree of action but also femininity from the wearer, its character is half ball dress, half match. Chanel place ceramic onto the map to get luxury dive-style watches with the J12, also Jaeger-LeCoultre has arguably provided its own version here. The luxury features are undeniable–with 18-karat increased gold metal accents and 16 diamonds around the bezel, the timepiece masks its “man watch” legacy rather well. In 39mm broad, the watch is all but man sized. I don’t have any doubt that more than a few guys would even wear one, if just Jaeger-LeCoultre took out the “Lady” portion of the name.
The new Jaeger-LeCoultre Rendez-Vous Tourbillon for women has a round opening at 6 o’clock through which the constant motion of the rotating tourbillon cage is visible. Consider it as a window into a tiny masterpiece of horology where dozens of components execute their intricate dance, all at the service of precision. The encompassing dial is made of shimmering mother of pearl, punctuated by diamond and sapphire details along with a bezel set with diamonds. But there is more. The show-stopping Rendez-Vous Tourbillon Haute Joaillerie is a marvel of gem-set mastery which matches the mechanical art of this movement. Bathed in the light of the two brilliant and baguette-cut diamonds, the dial is entirely set with these precious stones utilizing different levels and varying angles of setting. To add even more glamour, the case of the Jaeger-LeCoultre Rendez-Vous Tourbillon Haute Joaillerie features 547 diamonds totalling an impressive 9 carats. The result is mesmerising and one that was made to seduce even the toughest of women. You know what I’ve never seen? Or how about a solid gold hammer? We typically are not used to tools becoming such lavish remedies. The idea almost sounds preposterous, but in regards to watches that the opulent mentality reigns — and we love them for this. This is particularly true in regards to tools like the diving view. Its increasing popularity over formal timepieces stems from its durability and enhanced legibility. You might call the diver watch the most prosperous genre of timepiece to date. These types of timepieces are popular, in fact, that women often decide to wear them with outfits that would disintegrate when they got wet, although their watches would be endure.
It’s complicated to a tee, also very aesthetically pleasing. “I’ve been wearing Jaeger-LeCoultre watches for several decades now and have always been a fan of the brand. The degree of the craftsmanship is so impressive,” explained Cilve Owen in the SIHH 2012.Jaeger-LeCoultre watch provider gives an acute attention to detail throughout the watch-making process of all of their watches. Why? Because these are fine crafts that are created for the high class buyer. Those who admire such attention to detail should certainly try a Jaeger-LeCoultre watch. In accordance with Clive Owen and other noteworthy clientele, Jaeger-LeCoultre watches hit the pinnacle of sophistication in watch-making. The Jaeger-LeCoultre luxury watch manufacturer has hosted festivals and auctions worldwide. This past year the profits from one auction were entirely donated to stop illegal fishing in the largest Sanctuary of the Eastern Tropical Pacific.Jaeger-LeCoultre sold a limited edition “LeCoultre Particular Amerique 1959″ commemorative edition watch. The winning bid was approximately 27,000 USD and the winner though anonymous, was stated to be ‘elated’ with all the rare watch. This unique timepiece has been a prototype to the ‘Memovox Tribute to Deep Sea’ divers watches. Jaeger-LeCoultre spokesman said ‘It was the first diving watch to be equipped with an alarm and self winding Calibre.’ The funds were all given to Colombia’s Malpelo Fauna and Flora Society. The Colombian Navy currently spends an average of 20 days per month patrolling the Sanctuary which offers a badly necessary habitat to international endangered species. This was the third auction dedicated for the advantage of ‘World Heritage’ sea sites.
